2016 marks the Battle of Jutland centenary.

At the turn of the century in England the Wynne family, like so many others, are paying little attention to the shadows cast by the coming war.

George Wynne's father wants his son to follow him in the church, but George is determined to make the Navy his career. The battle of Jutland is woven into this story, which reaches a climax and some sort of resolution when the fighting is over.
