Holiday Mathis learned about the heavenly stars while meeting the earthly ones during her 13-year apprenticeship with celebrity astrologer Joyce Jillson.

Jillson taught her to chart predictions, and Holiday worked with Jillson's extensive celebrity clientele, specializing in music industry clients such as producers, artists, songwriters and industry executives.

She became known as "the Rock 'n' Roll Astrologer" by predicting hot CD release dates and fortuitous artist/producer combinations for some of the biggest artists on the Billboard charts.

Combining experience with youth -- and a broad knowledge of contemporary culture -- Holiday reaches out to young readers while keeping the loyalty of longtime astrology fans.

Weekly Horoscope by Holiday

Neptune Retrograde

For those who respect an environment, institution or person, it follows quite naturally to observe boundaries and behave appropriately. Where there's a lack of respect -- that's when things get squirrelly. Instead of trying to control people and symptoms, get to the heart of it. The introspective nudge from Neptune's retrograde will help answer questions such as... ITAL)Where is the breach in respect? What's causing that?

ARIES (March 21-April 19). There's usually a nicer way to say things. For most people, it's not typically the first way that comes to mind. But with practice in the art of diplomacy and negotiation, it gets easier to find the words. Try, "What if we did it this way instead?" and "We can talk about that later; for now, what about this?"

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Success is simple. Picture how you want your life to be, and then start the planning phase. There's a brainstorming session that belongs in there somewhere, too. Many ideas will at first seem nonlinear and irrational, but that doesn't make them bad ideas. More is possible than you realize.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You wonder what your heroes would do if given your particular circumstances. While you may hypothetically ask, "What would (so-and-so) do?" you won't follow through with any action other than the one that suits you. Though you're curious and open-minded, the bottom line is that you think and act for yourself.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Those who don't set up expectations will not be disappointed. But they also won't be prepared. So consider what is likely to happen. Get more information. Ask questions. Look for patterns. Make predictions. There's much about the week that can be won through a scientific approach.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). People will defend value systems that are part of their identity regardless of the logic or correctness of those value systems. Be very careful when it comes to identifying yourself with external institutions. The opportunity to join will arise this week. Be thoughtful and slow in your affiliations, if you affiliate at all.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). There's an accomplishment in your past that is a treasure. There's a disappointment in your past that's a bitter pill. And this is the week to let go of both. It may not make sense, but the glory and the bitterness are both the same, which is to say, they're both over. It's time to begin the next chapter. Turn the page.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Avoid mixing up the order that things happen in, because the order will make a big difference. For instance, you're not happy because it's perfect; it's perfect because you're happy. Also notable: In most instances this week, you'll be happy mainly because you decided that was your mood.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). It would be easier to be unaware, but that's not you. You're wide-awake. So you notice the small gestures and read meaning into them. When you don't prefer the implication, then you have to decide how much it matters: Little enough to ignore it? To minimize the impact and move on? What would be the gracious choice?

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). There are those who believe that others need to impress them to be worthy of their attention. This is not only a spiritually ungenerous manner but also an attitude that subtly influences others to perform, try, strive and be something other than what comes naturally. Exhausting! Refrain from any part of it!

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). It all may seem a bit upside-down to you at times this week, but many upside-down things work just fine -- perhaps not for what they were intended, but for other things. So use your imagination. You're more than creative enough to see the unexpected topsy-turviness as the opportunity it truly is.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). The Sea-Monkeys advertised on the magazine pages seemed like smiling underwater aliens. When the package came in the mail and the directions were followed, the outcome, at the very best, was tiny live shrimp. But isn't that still fascinating? The situation that plays out this week will follow a similar plotline.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). We hope that the truths of others align well with our own and typically see anything that threatens our beliefs as something to rectify. But is it? Through tolerance, those with different beliefs can coincide peacefully and better themselves through the compassion, tolerance and education that diversity offers.

THIS WEEK'S BIRTHDAYS: Your willingness to embody the change you want to see in the world and in yourself -- this is your superpower. It will make all of the difference for you this year. It's not a matter of becoming stronger and muscling through with willpower; rather, it's a softness that's needed. You'll relax into a new mold, into a way of being that helps you get what you're going for with great ease. There will be many group happenings this year, but three gatherings will be especially significant, altering the course of family and friends. Truly, you're better for knowing and helping one another!
