Weekly Horoscope by Petra du Preez

Libra Sep 23 – Oct 22

Since the focus is on your hopes, dreams and wishes, turn your attention to future prospects, whether in terms of your professional or private life. Weighing up the pros and cons of certain aspects of your life may warrant a need for change. Allowing for different circumstances and/or people to enter your life could be stimulating. Above all, don’t drag your feet when opportunities for new experiences present themselves.

Scorpio Oct 23 – Nov 21

With your resourcefulness fuelled, you’re likely to be in a striving mood, ready to take on the world. You’re in a favourable position to expand your business and/or enlarge your professional portfolio. Fees and costs may escalate, but you may also be presented with exciting opportunities which could have financial spin-offs. Since it’s a matter of balancing the books, your financial acumen will stand you in good stead.

Sagittarius Nov 22 – Dec 20

With your professional horoscope star-studded, it’s no time to let grass grow under your feet in terms of furthering your career goals. Commitment and making an effort is bound to pay off. You might want to draw up your CV, speak to the boss about your prospects and/or enrol on a study course or develop a skill in your chosen field. Whether for a business appointment or an interview, take care that you don’t run late.

Capricorn Dec 21 – Jan 20

As a Capricorn, you’re probably a responsible family member and pillar of strength in your community, with springing surprises few and far between. Your behaviour this week, however, may catch even you by surprise, as your desire to let your hair down could overthrow your circumspect nature. Fear not, this is a passing phase and may just do you the world of good. One should not always take life so seriously.

Aquarius Jan 21 - Feb 18

This week your love life can give you all the excitement you need or be downright disruptive. It all depends on how you play the game. Chances are if you’re too distant you might get the cold shoulder in return. Since you have to be present to win the prize, why not sweep him/her away on a weekend escape for two. Unpredictability can be both appealing and stimulating, as long as you include him/her in your plans.

Pisces Feb 19 – Mar 20

The Sun joins Jupiter in your love horoscope this week, magnifying the importance of your most intimate relationship. In fact, relationships on all levels of your life may come to the fore, some in need of review. Whilst it’s normal to sometimes make sacrifices to accommodate loved ones, friends and co-workers, make sure this does not become the norm. Stand up for yourself and demand the treatment you deserve.

Aries Mar 21 – Apr 19

It’s a week where the young ones in your life come to the fore and in one way or another demand time and attention. If you have children you could have your hands full, since they might be up to mischief. Best is to keep them busy and/or join in their fun. There’s also the possibility that you may have to put their interests above yours, which you can find annoying. The upside is that they’re bound to keep you amused and young at heart.

Taurus Apr 20 - May 20

With your planet, Venus, currently going retrograde, it’s an appropriate time to re-evaluate different aspects of your life. It’s time to do a reality check on what you deem important, which could involve the value of certain people, possessions or life structures and their contribution to your happiness. Don’t only focus on your outer world, though, but also pay attention to your inner reality and fundamental values.

Gemini May 21 – Jun 20

Family concerns and domestic chores could tie you down this week, which may be a bit of a bother for a Gemini who likes to flit around. It’s however a week when you’re likely to have good relations with your loved ones, so the joy of their company should outweigh the demand on your time. If you have a sibling, this is a great time to catch up, especially if he/she lives in a faraway place. Surprise him/her with a visit or a call.

Cancer Jun 21 – Jul 21

Due to unexpected matters in both your professional life and in your social circle that need to be taken care of, the tempo of your life could pick up considerably. Although this may leave little room for the much needed time by yourself, you’re bound to be rewarded with a sense of achievement. When it comes to money matters, be careful with your cash. It’s a time when financial risk-taking could be tempting, but futile.

Leo Jul 22 – Aug 22

Wanting to see more of the world and/or seeking new experiences may take you places this week. As it is, it’s a great time to travel, not only for fun, but also to broaden your horizons. Interaction with a foreigner could make for an inspiring time and put a whole new spin on your life. On another tack, it’s a good time to be pro-active about your goals and work hard at achieving them, even if you don’t get the deserved pat on the back.

Virgo Aug 23 – Sep 22

With the Sun moving into your sign, it’s time to turn your attention to yourself and promote your own interests. Chances are, as a Virgo, that you want to be helpful and of service to others, but this is the time to be kind to yourself. The focus is on self-development and growth, enlarging your life experience and furthering your ideals. Rather than allowing little things to hold you back, spread your wings and fly high.
