Change Your Mind, Change Your Life
by Leon Norell
Have you ever watched a fly trying to get out of the window? For hour
after hour the fly will try to penetrate the glass. Because the problem
is an invisible one, however, it fails to see why it cannot do so.
Whatever attempts you might make to help the fly, by opening a window
and even guiding it with your hand, it disregards that help. Instead,
it persists with its habitual patterns, constantly battering its head
against the window pane, never pausing to question why, or to consider
the solutions being offered. Unless it finds its way out by chance,
it eventually dies, never knowing there were alternatives.
It often does not occur to us that there may be alternatives to the
ways our lives are going, or other explanations for our disappointments
than those we have come to take for granted over the years. Like the
fly, we tend to ignore some solutions that stare us in the face.

Eating with Attitude—Teens
by Howard Cooper & Robert Isenberg
Teens...This Book Is For You!
If you aren’t choosing what food your parents buy and cook for you...
if you can’t control what’s on the menu for school dinners, then
a diet that focuses on nutrition and recipes, is going to be virtually
impossible for you to follow.
So, as a teenager, how can you take control of your weight loss?
We’re going to show you how you can lose weight easily, just by changing
your behaviours around food. These simple steps are things that you
really will be able to do, so that... whatever your parents make
for dinner... whatever you have for school dinners...
whatever packed lunches you have... losing weight will be in your
control.
And what’s more, you’ll be able to do this without having to remember
lots of complex nutritional advice, or having to take a set of pocket
scales with you everywhere you go! Because let’s face it, you don’t
want people to think you’re mad because you’re standing there in
the school canteen with your calculator and scales, weighing all
your food! You don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb amongst
your friends because they’re all having fish and chips and you’re
having a lettuce leaf.
Life as an overweight teenager can be hard sometimes. Maybe you suffer
at the hands of bullies. Perhaps you’re self-conscious and lack confidence.
Maybe you don’t feel attractive, and therefore have difficulties
with dating. In this book, you’re not just going to learn how to
lose weight, you’re also going to find out how to handle and improve
all of these areas of your life.
